I’ll hold my hands up and say that up until a few months ago I had never even heard of Temple Spa. But then a good friend mentioned she had attended a party and love it so much she’d become a consultant. Now I’ll admit that I was a bit sceptical, anything home shopping based usually makes me think “gimmick” and that those selling it as the “next best thing” are really only saying that for the commission, I know, how cynical on me.
Anyway, said friend isn’t one who I’d consider easily convinced or a con artist so when the opportunity arose to attend a class (yep, not a party, a class, sounds far more classy right!) at her home with the promise of a night of pampering I didn’t hesitate in saying yes.
The Temple Spa Skin Therapy Class
There are several different classes available, some of which are seasonal but for the evening we were going with the popular Skin Therapy class.
I for one was looking forward to this as I had told myself that if I liked the range I could do with a new cleanser and this class gave us the opportunity to try a few different ones.
The Cleanser
We tried a few different ones, but based on my skin type I opted for the Dual Act Wet & Dry Cleansing Lotion. This one offers a very fresh and clean scent and I loved the consistency of the lotion. After a few uses once back home in the “real world” I learnt to limit the amount of product to use, half a pump for me, otherwise it was sticky and a pain to remove without water.
Although the cleanser works both wet and dry I’ve pretty much stuck to the dry option for most uses. This is really just personal preference though, as for a “wet” routine (that sounds wrong even as I’m typing it…) I prefer a foaming cleanser, which this one didn’t really offer.
After drying off, my skin always feels fresh but not dry, which is an issue I’ve had with cleansers before. So overall a great new addition and start to my daily routine.
The Toner
Now don’t judge, but until the skin therapy class… I NEVER toned *gasps*, I know, I know VERY bad habit, especially when I’m at an age when skincare it pretty much up there at the top of my priority list along with monitoring for crows feet and sagging!
I’ll be honest, I’m not keen on the smell of this toning essence. It’s inspired by the Mediterranean, so expect rather strong “herby” notes to it, along with tomatoes, lavender and citruses. Unfortunately, that’s not a combination I’m a big fan of, but as Temple Spa only offer the one toning essence in the range I’ve stuck with it for now.
The Moisturiser
Finally, and this is my FAV! the Moisture To Go Balancing Moisturiser, described to me as ” liquid velvet for the skin”… and it really is! Less of a cream and more of a gel in consistency, it glides on smoothly and sits on the skin in a similar way to a primer might before being absorbed, leaving my skin soft and shine free. I use this each morning now and the packaging makes it easy and so so simple to use. I’m now a complete convert from my previous Eve Lom cream, which I have used for many years. It’s also just won silver in the Beauty Bible Skincare Awards for “Best Day Cream” and I can completely understand why.
2 months later
I’ve been using this 3 step routine for 2 months now and I still love it. I have swapped the cleanser and moisturiser out for other products in the Temple Spa range for my evening routine, which I’ll cover in a separate post, but overall I’ve seen a great improvement in my skin. It’s cleaner, fresher and nowhere near as flaky as it could be before. So now I’m a convert! If you haven’t tried Temple Spa products, maybe for the same reasons I hadn’t please do, I know you’ll be very pleasantly surprised.
So have you tried any Temple Spa products? Are you a convert like me? I’d love to know what products you love!
I know what you mean about converts i feel the same way. The moisturiser sounds interesting, winter is doing a bit of a job on my skin at the moment!

I know, my skin is in danger of being a little dry, I’m upping my mask usage to compensate!
I wasn’t a Temple Spa convert after my class, I think I’d look to them for a luxurious face mask over a full routine, but it’s nice to read a ‘real’ review (rather than a gushing consultant’s) and to see that you found some products that work well for you!

ah it’s interesting you say that, another member of my class was the same, for her it was the smell, she didn’t like the strong scents of some of the products. What was it you weren’t keen on Lyd?
I haven’t heard of this brand either, being totally honest but I love the packaging and I love your photos! I’m skepticsl now about Home selling and pyramid schemes – I don’t know if this is one but one I’ve previously bought from just isn’t worth the money ?♀️

I’m always sceptical lol Although you can buy these products at online stores and I think in Harrods so it’s not completely home selling. I was really pleasantly surprised, I was expecting Avon and got something much better
I heard another blogger talking about this brand but other than that I don’t know anything about them. I feel home selling.
